Technology - How It Works

The RecoverGuard architecture is an intelligent, ticket-based framework designed to automatically identify data protection, availability and disaster recovery vulnerabilities.  The solution consists of two main modules:

The data collection engine is an automatic, agent-less technology that scans the IT infrastructure and collects information from key IT assets using standard protocols and APIs. Using the collected data, RecoverGuard calculates dependencies and relationships between applications, databases, file systems, servers, storage volumes and replicas.

The gap detection engine then searches through the results for any of the thousands of gap signature which are stored in the RecoverGuard knowledgebase. When potential data protection, availability and disaster recovery risks are detected, a ticket is issued which contains details regarding the severity of the problem and how to resolve it. Optimization opportunities around performance, saving and best practices are also noted.
